Almost didn’t make a post today as I was busy all morning in the premarket with other business. I barely watched, but I did not miss a thing. NQ literally had no life as it bounced along sideways until about 30 mins before the bell when it had a decent selloff.
At the Bell
However, that wasn’t enough to get things really going after the bell. It continued to chop around until after 10:30 EST. At that time, I quickly realized I needed to adjust my core strategy to the pulse of the market. Benefit of learning how to develop and tweak strategies.
At the end of the day ended with 1 loss and 2 winning scalps for a better than lately green day. Not complaining at all. #HardWorkPaysOff
As of 6 am EST, market not showing anything interesting yet on 35K of volume. Better than last week at least. Economic calendar showing two events today at 8:15 and 8:30 EST.
Currently, NQ testing some resistance at 6967.5. I will just be waiting and watching for a good setup while working on some other business on the side until the bell.
At the Bell
Another very slow and dull premarket. Didn’t take any plays, paper trade or live. As expected the calendar events had minimal to no effect on the market.
And the snooze fest continued through the first ten minutes of the market. Guess summer vacation started early or graduation ceremonies and celebrations…
One trade for $50! Yaaaay!!! LOL
What a long day of slow nothingness. Didn’t see any good setups until after 11:00 EST which resulted in the profit stated above. On a bright note, the studying and work I did over the weekend helped me avoid what could have been a couple losses today and a lot of unnecessary stress.
Yesterday being a holiday, the futures market was open for half the day. There was a little action with a little traffic that could have actually been playable. I just like to not trade on these days, but I have seen from my experience these half-days are actually playable.
Today, before 6 am EST, NQ had major selloff with much more volume than we’ve seen lately. It’s down .61% on 88K of volume. Major activity in premarket turned out to be due to news on Italy.
Did a lot of studying and adjusting this weekend, so I’m super ready. Let’s do this!
At the Bell
After big premarket action, open of the market showing typical action as of late with the exception of a lot of volume. NQ basically trading in the range created in the big premarket selloff.
Was only able to catch two scalps with the dull market after the bell. However, bright note, the adjustments I made to my strategy over the weekend helped out a lot. Keep in mind, I didn’t change a thing about the core of my strategy. Just made an improvement. Like adding a part to a car to improve the performance.
