Aug 14, 2018 – This Feels Personal

Premarket Insight

Logging into my platform for the first time today at 08:00 EST, so far volume looks good across the board. Price action of NQ and CL pretty strong, bullish so far. NQ looks to be entering some retracement at this point.

Today’s action could be pivotal, watching yesterday’s low. Could be similar to what happened back in February and March. That volatility would bring in great, much needed, profit potential. And I feel ready more than ever.

Nothing significant on the calendar today.

COB Recap

I know it’s not, but starting to feel like CL got something personal against me. Managed to get me to my three-strike rule right before making the move in the direction I was playing it. And this time I played it perfectly, just kept getting stopped out in a channel. Needless to say, I’m beyond frustrated.

Did better with NQ but took a loss on the last trade as well giving me just $10 profit on the day from being up more than $100. What a day!!!

Tomorrow I will be trading only NQ, mainly due to my low account balance at this point. It’s imperative that I remember to stay consistent tomorrow.

Aug 3, 2018 – Twilight Trading

Premarket Insight

Still trying to mentally recover from my complete spacing out on a ton of profit yesterday. So far, today seems like a normal Friday. No major headlines. Just a few more earnings but nothing major. And the volume as of 07:30 EST is relatively normal.

On the calendar today, Nonfarm Payrolls and Unemployment Rate at 08:30 EST, and ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI at 10:00 EST.

At the Bell

Paper traded in the premarket just to satisfy my boredom, and good thing because neither trade worked out. A lot of chop leading up to the bell after 08:00 EST.

The first 10 minutes was more slightly bearish chop without a clean entry, so no plays taken. Need to remember to stay disciplined to my strategy and not let the failure of yesterday carry over into today.

COB Recap

Writing this in hindsight, way after the fact, because this is another day where I almost didn’t post. I had a little study/practice session of the morning session after I completely bombed the day losing $970!!! After I got my emotions back under control, wanting to destroy my office from my trading struggles of the day, I looked back at my trades and realized I made a lot of mistakes.

Basically, I made things way more complicated than it needed to be, especially on a difficult day as today. Then I capped the day off by breaking my three-strikes rule on CL, revenge trading with FOMO. As a result, I cannot take any trades (including paper trades) on CL Monday, plus a move that would be a loser to make up for the extra loss I had today.

At the end of my back trading in my platforms replay mode, I actually should have had a green day (smh). Why do I love to learn lessons the hard way? Gots-ta-do mo betta!

To end this on a positive note, it was still a green week! 🙂

Jul 31, 2018 – Down Swinging

Premarket Insight

Would love to have a great day today, but being realistic I’m not expecting to end the month in the green being so far in the red. Had I traded slightly different Friday and yesterday things would be different, but it is what it is.

Today, all eyes are on AAPL with it earnings report after the closing bell. I’ll decide later if I will try to play that or not. I haven’t been too impressed with earnings this quarter.

Other than that, there’s nothing significant on the calendar today and no other headlines pop out from what I checked to cause a stir in the market today. Just business as usual. Again, starting my trading after the open bell.

At the Bell

NQ opening bullish after some slight activity in the premarket. CL finally came out of the premarket chop strong bearish. I paper traded it successfully. NQ started about ten minutes before the bell with a strong bull move that continued in the first five minutes of the open. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some pullback from the strong drop of the last couple trading days.

COB Recap

Stopped trading after my successful trade on NQ hitting my target at 10:20 EST, bringing my P/L for the day to $520. With all the struggles recently didn’t want to give any of that up even if that meant missing out on a trade later on. Feeling like it’s better to end the month strong to carry over into the new trading month with a confidence boost.

At the end of the day, had I kept trading would have had one loss and one more win moving my P/L up another $200 on NQ. Could have had more losses CL so I’m not sweating it one bit. I just paper traded to scratch the itch (lol). Not a bad way to end a rough month. August is mine!!!

Not sure why it cut out half the trade, but click the image to see the full trade.
