Apologize in advance for the gold headline rant. (LOL) Not much going on today in terms of Economic Outlook and news. Saw a headline yesterday that rubbed me the wrong way. I go over that in addition to the normal technical analysis for my futures watchlist.

President Trump makes headlines in the premarket today, which seems to be an attempt to give the markets some needed lift in response to the recent selloff. Euro forex Futures a bit out of character today trading all over the place on strong volume. There’s plenty of things going on today that should make things interesting throughout the day.

Another morning of choppy price action. No trades taken in live account (AMP Futures) due to price action and my strategy would have only grabbed scalps at best. I know this because I paper traded in Sierra Chart.

There’s a way to correctly trade this kind of price action that I will detail in this video. With this low energy up to this point, I don’t feel like I will get a desirable setup without some significant pullback, so I’m deciding to end my day early again. There’s always Thursday!

For the premarket volume check, CLF19 the only contract over 100k of volume with 6EZ18 not far behind. A good deal of bulls across the board leading up to the bell.

• Price action not good for my strategy

The market was just too choppy today for my strategy and I didn’t see any good setups before deciding to call it a day before 11:30 EST. With NQ climbing more than 1% in the premarket, I did not feel like it would keep trading long. Bulls were putting up a fight to push it higher, but the bears were just too determined to stop the continuation.

For me, it’s better to not force it and end up flat with no trades than try to force a trade and take a loser. The market will be open tomorrow, so I will have a chance to make some gains another day.
