Jun 15, 2018 – Bloody Battle

Premarket Insight

As expected, the NQ is having some pullback in the premarket in response of a strong day bullish yesterday. GC already looking strong on volume. Hasn’t made a significant move yet. On the daily, could be at an area to break out of this consolidation bullish.

On the playlist today is the usual, GC in the premarket and NQ after the bell. Will also be working on some things with paper money.

At the Bell

Later I did realize today is expiration Friday, so all the selling in the premarket made sense. I should have played NQ in the premarket with this knowledge. Could have caught some nice scalps.

As usual, the first 10 mins of the open chopped around with no general direction. Took one L in the premarket on GC (gold futures) with a valuable takeaway of having one too many indicators on my chart. Sucks to lose but happy I was able to learn from it.

COB Recap

Long story short, pretty much ended the day getting caught in a revenge trade. Took 2 Ls getting caught being aggressive at the wrong time in the middle of a battle between the bulls and the bears with a little felling of regret from missing an earlier opportunity.

BTW, I was completely wrong on GC with my earlier analysis on it being at a good position to pop higher breaking out of daily consolidation. Instead, it decided to let the bears in for a field day.

See my mess below.

Jun 13, 2018 – Fire Management

Premarket Insight

Cold, rainy day here in the Philippines making me sleepy and lazy. Not a good recipe for an active day trader. That plus not much going on as of yet in the premarket. Volume is low and price action is virtually non-existent (watching GC-gold).

On the calendar, some PPI news at 8:30 and Fed action at 14:00 EST. Could be an interesting day after the bell. Praying for volatility.

At the Bell

Struggled again in the premarket with GC just bounding around, taking a long time to pick a direction. Not much else happened elsewhere in the market before the bell.

After the bell, NQ started another strong bull run in the first 10 minutes. Staying patient with my rule, waiting for a good entry to play fearlessly.

Choppiness got me after my green lighter taking an L on my first play. After looking back at the play, maybe played stop too tight here but it easily could have stopped me out for more, so I ain’t tripping. Setting up for the next opportunity.

A bullish pop here would mean another new all-time high (ATH)! Previous high at 7258 (NQU8).

COB Recap

Missed the break to the new ATH after getting stopped out. This preceded to me calling an audible and making a play on ES (S&P Futures) thinking it would follow EQ. I usually watch ES daily but rarely playing it.

However, thanks to some convo in the chatroom I’m a member of, realized something very interesting that I could use based off my strategy to play ES daily. Will do some in-depth studying and paper trading before going live with this insight.

Today, will more than likely play the Fed news in the afternoon, as Fed news usually offers great opportunities in the afternoon. For now, some quick midnight lunch (Philippine time) and study session.

Jun 12, 2018 – Trade Code Eight

Premarket Insight

The challenge for me today is staying focused on my trading with the other business I have to tend to elsewhere. The plan is the same as yesterday, watching for a play in GC in the premarket with NQ scalping after the bell.

Only thing on the calendar today is Core CPI news at 08:30 EST, of which I’m not expecting much to come out of.

Some other things that could create some noise in the market is news about the Trump and Kim situation and Fed activity, as reported on investing.com.

At the Bell

Ended up taking a loss in the premarket thanks to over-management on GC play. NQ bounced off a pivot point in the premarket, entering the bell bullish.

…And continued bullish in the first 10 minutes. Here, will be looking for a possible pullback and good support/resistance to setup a good place to enter.

At 10:00 EST TOS decided to stop feeding me data. Good thing I still have the data with TradingView as a backup. Had to switch over to keep trading.

COB Recap

Welp, today was another one of those days of many struggles. NQ kept bouncing around into it finally popped bullish into new high of the day, of course while I wasn’t paying attention, missing the move. By this time, I had redirected my attention to studying CL. At this point, can’t do anything but laugh.

Takeaway: I need to make some adjustments for how aggressive I am at entering. This will require making a very small tweak to how I play the original strategy I developed.

All-in-all, not a terrible day. A red day from over-managing the GC play premarket, but I can confirm I am still progressing as a trader. The market will be open tomorrow. 🙂
